A collection of bricks, stacked upon each other. That was the only thing that crossed my empty mind as I walked along the ledge which lead to the top of the hill. I didn’t think much of them as if they were leaves in a mountain of autumn debris. Just an ordinary site among a thousand others. I mean, it was Korea. There was a lot to feast your eyes on other than some ordinary buildings. Soon after that, I was done scouting and planning the spots which I would go to the next day to take some pictures of the sunset and I was making my way down. Then I looked at this “collection of bricks” I talked about earlier. And it looked.. different. Turns out it was just about the time that the locals went back to their urban dwellings after a long day of work or whatever they were doing. All of the sudden, these stacks of buildings came to life. Like there was a breath of air. It became an entity of its own. Without hesitating I took my camera out and captured this. The lives of hundreds of people in their own private nests. One thing I learned from this shot was that immortals require mere mortals to “appear” alive. They built it, lived in it, and is keeping it seemingly “mortal” if that makes any sense.
